5 Christmas Displays You Must See In Hong Kong

If you’re looking for a European-style Christmas complete with snow and sizzling fireplaces, Hong Kong probably isn’t first on everyone’s list when it comes to the holiday season. But the city certainly pulls out all the stops when it comes its Christmas decorations. Here are some that you can’t miss this year!

Harbour City

Harbour City seems to always have the most amazing installations and they’ve done it again this Christmas! Right outside this shopping mall is a 40m long bridge complete with Christmas LED lights, which you’re encouraged to decorate with your own hand-written wishes or a heart-shaped lock. For a $50 donation to the Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation, access a secret garden where you’ll find the world’s largest kaleidoscope showing every festive motif you can think of on LED screen walls.

Landmark

Landmark’s Christmas decorations are a total stunner every year and 2018’s installation is no different. The Atrium has transformed into Cocoaland, a chocolate factory which kids young and old are sure to delight in! Every 30 minutes, there’s a music show filled with festive music, lights and chocolate flowing through each of the chocolate-making machines. There’s even a cart serving up some delicious egg tarts!

Dying to see London’s Regent Street Christmas lights? No need to jump on a flight this year because the iconic street’s ‘Spirit of Christmas’ light display has arrived at Lee Tung Avenue, Causeway Bay! Until 31st December, this 200m shopping precinct will host five festive figurines, a forest of trees, glittery lights and even an (artificial!) snow shower every 10 minutes on the hour, between 5-9pm! There will also be live entertainment and other happenings, so check the schedule here.

Disneyland Hong Kong

Christmas has truly arrived at Disneyland, with trees lining streets, tinsel, wreaths and colourful lights at every turn. Play during the day and well night falls, watch the gigantic Christmas tree on Main Street light up the night sky. Led by Mickey and friends, enjoy a festive performance complete with live singers, shimmering lanterns and glossy lights. There are more events happening throughout the holiday seasons. Check the schedule to get in on all the fun!

Pacific Place

If you’re looking to take a family photo with Santa, you’ll find him waiting for you at Pacific Place! While you’re there, you’ll be able to check out his private library where he thinks up magical gifts for people who’ve been good throughout the year! Look out for the motion-sensor decorations like sliding books, levitating staircases and a piano that plays all by itself. There’s also Christmas workshops where you can create gifts like a Christmas lamp, a diffuser or wooden toy. For more details, click here.

– After all that Christmas fun, head upstairs to Shack Shack which has just opened at Pacific Place!
