For those who have a sweet tooth, being asked to choose between the cheesecake or chocolate brownie just might be anxiety inducing. But there’s none of that at Tokyo’s Cafe Ron Ron, an all-you-can-eat conveyor belt café serving up some of the most cutesy dishes you’ve seen this side of Asia.
Straight Out of a Dream
Located in the very eccentric district of Harajuku, Cafe Ron Ron ticks all the boxes if you’re looking for a cafe that’s #asethetics. A little Alice in Wonderland, this space is decorated in pastel shades and gold quotes, making every inch oh-so-Insta.
There are even selfie props you can pose with – just ask! Ron ron is also the sound that the Japanese believe cats make when purring and so there are plenty of cat motifs around the café as well.
Show Me The Way
This place sure attracts a crowd, so be prepared to arrive early! When you enter Cafe Ron Ron, you’ll see a machine where you can purchase your 40 minutes all-you-can-eat meal plus a hot or cold drink at 1,800 yen.
Psst – if you have LINE Messenger, you can add Cafe Ron Ron and get a 100 yen discount!
Let Them Eat Cake!
Whether it be strawberry shortcake, dango or princess cupcakes, Cafe Ron Ron absolutely spoils you with choice! The 38m winding conveyor belt features 25 miniature sweets, some of which are Harajuku must-eats like the fruit crepe and fluffy cotton candy. Also look out for signature desserts with cat decorations on it and see how many you can find – there’s a macaron stack with an edible cat tail and chocolate paws!
Dishes aren’t overwhelmingly sweet, so stack your dishes into a mountain after you’ve had a plate or 10!
There’s also 10 savoury items on the menu and each are tasty delights in between all those sweets. Take your pick from potato salad in an ice cream cone, yakisoba bread, bite sized quiches and so much more.
